Life Updates: Where I’ve Been & What’s New
Hey everyone! I know it’s been a while since my last post, and I owe you all an explanation for my digital silence. Life has taken some exciting turns these past couple of months, and I’m finally ready to share all the updates with you.
The Big Career Move
The biggest news first: I’ve made the leap to AMD! After months of contemplation and several intense interview rounds, I accepted a position as an Applied AI Engineer. The transition has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding. I’m now working on integrating AI solutions into real-world applications, which feels like the perfect blend of my technical expertise and my passion for innovative technology. While I can’t share too many details about my projects (you know how it goes!), I can say that the work we’re doing is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with AI acceleration.
Setting Sail: My Yacht Club Adventures
One of my favorite ways to decompress from the intensity of tech has been my newfound love for sailing. I joined the local yacht club this fall and I’m thinking about making it my weekend sanctuary. There’s something magical about the way the morning fog lifts off the water during our early races. I’ve been taking lessons, and last month I finally earned my basic keelboat certification! The club’s monthly sundowner events have also become a highlight – nothing beats watching the sunset over the marina while networking with fellow sailing enthusiasts.
Fall Fashion & Style Evolution
My new role has inspired me to revamp my wardrobe with what I like to call “tech executive meets creative professional.” I’ve been gravitating toward:
- High-quality basics: Think crisp white shirts from Theory and well-cut blazers
- Statement pieces: Vintage Hermès scarves that add personality to simple outfits
- Comfortable yet polished footwear: My recent splurge on The Row loafers was totally worth it
- Minimalist jewelry: Simple gold pieces that can transition from day to evening
Skincare Favorites for Fall
The changing season and long hours in air-conditioned offices had my skin crying out for attention. Here’s what’s been saving my complexion:
Morning Routine:
- La Roche-Posay Toleriane Hydrating Cleanser
- Youth to People Skin Drip Serum
- Youth to People Lactic Acid Face Cleanser (splurge-worthy!)
- Goop Microderm Physical and Chemical Exfoliant
- EltaMD UV Clear SPF 46
Evening Routine:
- Double cleanse with Then I Met You Living Cleansing Balm
- Prescription tretinoin (game-changer for texture)
- Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream (perfect for cooler weather)
- La Mer Lip Balm (yes, it’s expensive, but it’s the only thing that works in this weather)
Looking Ahead
While these past few months of relative silence have been transformative, I’m excited to be back in this space. The new job is settling into a rhythm, I’m finding balance with my hobbies, and I feel more inspired than ever to share content with you all. Expect more regular posts about tech insights, sailing adventures, and lifestyle favorites.
Thank you all for your patience during my absence. Sometimes you need to step back to move forward, and I’m grateful for this supportive community that allows me to do just that.
Have any of you made major life changes recently? I’d love to hear about your experiences in the comments below!
Until next time,
[Akansha]
