Winter is finally wrapping up and spring is just around the corner. The trees are budding, flowers are blooming, and warmer weather is ahead. I’m so excited to pack up my heavy winter coats and welcome the new season.
To celebrate the start of spring, my family took a trip to a local farm. We wandered through the fields and visited the baby animals that were recently born. My daughter loved petting the tiny lambs and watching the calves romping around in their pens. We picked up fresh eggs from the chicken coop that were still warm in our hands. The farmer let us sample maple syrup directly from the buckets hanging on the sugar maple trees. We left with bags full of just-picked vegetables and big smiles on our faces.
After our fun visit to the farm, we headed to the beach to enjoy another sign of spring – warmer temperatures. We ate the vegetables from the farm in a salad picnic on the sand. The cool breeze still held a little winter chill, but the bright sunlight felt gloriously warm on our pale winter skin. My son chased seagulls and we collected shells. The ice cream shop was open for the first time this year, so we enjoyed cones while strolling along the boardwalk.
Spring reminds me to seek out new adventures as the world seems to come back to life after winter. It brings opportunities for making happy family memories and exploring all the seasonal joy nature offers. This year, I hope you’ll join me in welcoming longer days, nature’s renewal, and fresh possibilities. Come on spring!
