If you’re a fan of French beauty and skincare, you’ve likely heard of Typology. This Paris-based brand has become quite popular for their simple, ingredient-conscious skincare products that get results without irritating sensitive skin. Up until recently, Typology focused solely on skincare. But they’ve now launched their first-ever makeup line inspired by their roots in skincare.
The Typology makeup products aim to nourish and care for skin while also providing buildable coverage. The collection includes a skin-balancing tinted serum with hyaluronic acid, a cream blush that contains jojoba oil and vitamin E, glow drops for a radiant complexion boost, a brightening vitamin C serum, a moisturizing lip and cheek balm, and mineral-based powders for setting makeup without drying out the skin.
I recently had the chance to test out a few products from the debut makeup line and here are my thoughts:
The Glow Drops Designed to mix in with your other liquids and creams, these radiance-boosting drops contain hydrating squalane and brightening vitamin C to leave skin with an all-over luminosity. When added to my tinted serum, it gave my complexion the most beautiful, lit-from-within glow.
The Brightening Vitamin C Serum This lightweight serum is packed with 15% pure vitamin C along with brightening licorice root and antioxidant-rich elderberry extracts. It noticeably faded some stubborn hyperpigmentation on my cheeks and left my skin tone looking much more even.
The Skin-Balancing Tinted Serum This lightweight, hydrating serum comes in six shades and provides a wash of color while delivering skin-loving ingredients like niacinamide and vitamin C. It has a dewy finish that can be built up from light to medium coverage. My skin looked glowy and vibrant while still looking like skin.
The Nourishing Concealer This emollient, blendable concealer comes in 5 shades and helps cover dark circles and imperfections with skin-loving ingredients like peach kernel oil, vitamin E, and apple extract. It has a dewy, lightweight finish that layers beautifully without creasing or looking cakey.
Overall Impressions I’m impressed with how Typology managed to create makeup that not only looks beautiful but also cares for your skin in the process. The products are a pleasure to use, they’re versatile, and they deliver on their skincare-makeup hybrid promise. I can’t wait to see what else the brand comes out with!
