Trying Goop Glow: My Brutally Honest Review
As a longtime fan of Goop and their clean beauty products, I was eager to try their latest launch – Goop Glow. This 3-step regimen promises glowing, hydrated skin using Goop’s signature botanicals. But did it live up to the hype? Here’s my honest take after testing it out:
Packaging & Presentation – 5/5 The turquoise bottles with minimalist branding are very on-brand for Goop. The steps are color coded making it easy to follow the routine. I also appreciate the glass packaging and that the set comes in a handy travel bag.
Step 1 – G.Tox Malachite + Fruit Acid Pore Purifying Cleanser This foaming green cleanser has a refreshing citrus scent. The formula feels gentle yet effective at removing makeup and purifying pores. I didn’t experience any irritation from the AHA/BHA fruit acids. My skin felt clean but not stripped after use.
Step 2 – GOOPGENES All-in-One Nourishing Face Cream The rich yet quickly absorbing cream deeply hydrates without feeling greasy. My skin looked plump and smooth after applying. However, the scent is quite strong – almost medicinal. I wish it had a more pleasant aroma.
Step 3 – GOOPGLOW 20% Vitamin C + Hyaluronic Acid Glow Serum The glow serum left my skin looking radiant and dewy upon application. I’m a big fan of vitamin C so this felt like the star of the routine to me. It absorbed quickly without tackiness.
Overall Glow Level – 3/5 After using the 3-step system, my complexion did appear slightly more glowing. But I wouldn’t say my skin looked remarkably more radiant than with my regular routine. The glow was subtle despite the name.
Is It Worth The Price? At $125 for the starter kit, this is quite a pricey routine for a very mild glow payoff. With comparable quality ingredients, I feel I can get similar results for less cost. For that reason, I can’t fully recommend rushing out to buy it.
Overall, I appreciate the clean formulas and luxe feel of Goop Glow. But I was expecting more dramatic brightening results for the steep price tag. If you’re a die-hard Goop fan, give it a shot! For others, I might start with a more affordable vitamin C serum instead.
