Hey , happy weekend y’all. So I got a new hair cut and a new hair color. I went with ash brown balayage. I think its a fun style and ash brown suits my skin tone. There are very few shaades that suit Indian skin other than dark browns or blacks but I think a dark toned olive brown goes well with mine.
The color tends to lighten after a few washes.I went down to bounce and picked this color pallette to match my skin tone. I have also put together a guide for yall to figure out whether you have a warm, cool or netural skin tone. Why I picked Ash brown ?Unlike dark chocolate or soft, warm brown, ash brown is a gray-leaning shade that will bring out the cool tones in your hair (which of course makes it best for women with cool or neutral skin tones). It has a dusky finish that’s ideal for warm days and summertime living.
The process for hair coloring is simple, they back comb your hair and apply color to the remaining hair to give it that balayage effect. You have to let it sit for an additional 30-45min. Overall about 60min and add another 15 min for toning the shade and wash. I also opted for a spa treatment so that my hair doesnt dry out after the color process. I highly recommend you opt for it as well and take care of color treated hair. Hair tends to dry out after coloring so make sure to get frequent oil massages, steam and always use a paraben and sulphate free shampoo.
Another pro-tip to avoid dryig yoru hair is to let them air dry and use a blow dryer only for emergencies. If you do need to use a blow dryer use a heat protection spray. I will link down below the products I use , this is not a sponsored post, just sharing with yall what I use. Also make sure that your hair dryer and or straighetener is working at a temperature lower than 140C because the high heat damages hair color.
Coming to the hair cut, its a simple lob with lots of layers for volume. I like to keep it simple and a length that is manageable. I prefer not to have to spend more than 5min on my hair.I loved having short hair but I get bored so easily and was ready for a little change, hence the hair color. You can always check out my pinterest board on hair linked here for more hair inspiration
Parting thoughts, ash brown is tha shade for almost every skin tone.Like its blonde equivalent, ash brown is surprisingly versatile. It plays nicely with shades on the cool end of the spectrum, mainly pastels, and even looks lovely alongside notes of gold and caramel. If you’re looking for a hair refresh or trading in dark brown hair, ash brown is an on-trend way to do it.
